INDICATIONS

Treatment of eyelash hypotrichosis (insufficient eyelash growth).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or other components of the drug. Children's age. Pregnancy. The period of breastfeeding.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

The drug is used once at night. The face must be pre-cleansed of cosmetics, contact lenses must be removed.

One drop of Latiss ™ is applied to the  sterile applicator, which is added in the kit, and the drug is evenly applied to the skin of the upper edge of the eyelid along the eyelash growth line, using a brush along the edge of the upper eyelid

 

The edge of the growth of the eyelashes of the upper eyelid should be slightly moistened, but without flowing out of the line of eyelash growth along the edge of the eyelid. To prevent excessive hydration of the eyelids, it is necessary to remove excess fluid.

The applicator must be discarded after a single use.

The procedure for applying the drug to the upper eyelid of the second eye is repeated using a new sterile applicator.

Do not reuse applicators.

You can also not use any other applicator or brush for applying the Latiss TM preparation (except for the sterile applicators that come with the kit). Do not apply the drug to the lower eyelid. Avoid contact of the dropper bottle with any surface to prevent infection.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Itching of the eye mucosa, conjunctival hyperemia, hyperpigmentation of the skin, irritation of the mucous membrane of the eyes, dry eye syndrome, redness of the eyelids. The listed side effects were observed in less than 4% of cases.

If the drug accidentally gets into the eyes, the following symptoms may appear: dry eyes, visual impairment, sensations of a foreign body and burning eyes, pain, blepharitis, cataracts, superficial subepithelial speckled keratitis, discharge from the eyes, lacrimation, photophobia, allergic con junctivitis, asthenopia, increased pigmentation of the iris, conjunctival edema, change in hair growth, iridocyclitis, infectious complications, headache, asthenia.

Possible decrease in intraocular pressure.

OVERDOSE

There is no information on an overdose of Latiss TM .

USE DURING PREGNANCY OR LACTATION

Safety and effectiveness of the drug during pregnancy have not been established, therefore, the drug is not used during this period.

If it is necessary to use the drug during lactation, breast-feeding should be stopped.

CHILDREN

The effectiveness and safety of Latiss TM in children has not been studied, therefore, the drug should not be used in pediatric practice.

SPECIAL SECURITY MEASURES

The onset of the effect is gradual, in most patients is insignificant, up to 2 months. Patients should be warned that the effect of the drug is unstable, and a gradual return to the state of the eyelashes, which was before treatment, after discontinuation of the drug Latiss TM, is possible . In addition, there may be differences in the length of the eyelashes, their thickness, color intensity, the total number of eyelashes or new eyelashes and / or the direction of eyelash growth.

If the patient has forgotten to apply Latiss TM , one should not try to double the dose, but apply the drug at the usual time the next evening.

Effect on intraocular pressure

Bimatoprost reduces intraocular pressure (IOP). With the simultaneous use of Latiss ™ and prostaglandin analogues to reduce IOP in patients with increased intraocular pressure, it is possible to reduce the effect of reducing increased intraocular pressure.

Iris pigmentation

Perhaps increased pigmentation of the iris, especially with dark pigment, probably the effect will become permanent. An increase in pigmentation of the iris was observed during instillation of eye drops. The change in pigmentation is associated primarily with an increase in the content of melanin, as well as with an increase in the number of melanocytes. The duration of the effect of increasing pigmentation is unknown. A significant increase in iris pigmentation is not an indication for discontinuing the use of Latiss TM .

Eyelid pigmentation

Bimatoprost has been reported to cause pigment changes in periorbital pigment tissues. It is assumed that pigmentation may increase during the entire time of the use of the drug Latiss TM , but in most patients, pigmentation is the opposite when the application is stopped.

Hair growth outside the treatment area

Hair growth is possible in areas of the skin on which the drug is accidentally applied. It is necessary to apply Latiss TM only on the skin of the upper edge of the eyelid along the eyelash growth line, using a sterile applicator and to prevent the drug from getting on the skin of the face.

Prevention of microbial contamination of Latiss ™ and applicators

To reduce the risk of eye infection, it is recommended to use the Latiss TM preparation in strict accordance with the instructions, the tip of the dropper bottle and the brush of the applicator should NOT be allowed to come into contact with any surfaces, you should also not touch them with your fingers. Use a sterile applicator only 1 time. After use, the applicator is discarded.

Contact lens application

Latiss TM contains benzalkonium chloride, which can be adsorbed with soft contact lenses, cause eye irritation and discoloration of soft contact lenses. Contact lenses must be removed before using the drug, and can be installed again no earlier than after 15 minutes. In case of any symptoms from the organs of vision (eye injury, infectious complications), with a sudden decrease in visual acuity, if necessary, a scheduled ophthalmic surgery , and also in case of side effects, you should contact an ophthalmologist to decide on the possibility of further treatment of Latiss TM .

APPLICATION FEATURES

With caution, the drug should be used in patients with aphakia, pseudophakia, damage to the posterior lens capsule, as well as in the presence of risk factors for macular edema, with prolonged diabetes mellitus, high cholesterol, nephropathy, arterial hypertension, especially with high diastolic pressure in patients with uveitis due to a possible worsening of the course of the disease.
